Anthony Rivers began as a peer support specialist in Portland, Oregon, and has spent more than a decade in public health and equity work. His roles have included Equity and Social Justice Manager and Health Equity Manager at the Washington State Department of Health, and program manager for community well-being and CDC-partnered programs at Public Health Seattle & King County.

He speaks openly about living with bipolar disorder. Peer support isn’t therapy and it isn’t advice. It’s walking alongside someone as a person who has been there.
